Montreal cloud provider signs with value-added distributor

SherWeb has signed a distributorship agreement with Arrow Electronics, Inc.  This follows the Montreal-based cloud services providers’ partnership with rival Ingram Micro in 2012.

In this case, it enables the value-added distributor to actively market SherWeb’s line of cloud services to all of its Canadian and American solution providers along with managed service providers (MSPs) and independent software vendors (ISVs).

SherWeb’s solutions will be available on the ArrowSphere online marketplace, which is similar to Ingram Micro’s Cloud Marketplace. Ingram’s offering currently 170 cloud solutions from 53 vendor partners. Of that 120 of those cloud solutions will be available in Canada from 40 vendors.

According to a SherWeb company spokesperson, the company’s cloud services portfolio has expanded since the 2012 Ingram agreement. SherWeb now offer a much broader range of cloud solutions that include SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS. Back in 2012, it only featured SaaS.

The spokesperson went on to say that the Arrow arrangement is similar to Ingram, except that the profile of the sub-reseller differentiates one distributor from another. Arrow’s channel is smaller but the resellers are larger and they serve bigger markets.

SherWeb Performance Cloud Servers is also part of this deal. SherWeb will also give Arrow resellers the option to white-label, gray-label or co-brand its solutions. All Exchange migrations are performed free of charge by SherWeb.

Arrow becomes SherWeb’s first major distributor for its high-performance cloud server. SherWeb also has a partnership with Arrow rival Avnet.

Dee Dee Lear, vice president of cloud and business development for Arrow’s North American enterprise computing solutions business, said resellers are hungry for high-performance, flexible cloud solutions. Not only does SherWeb fit these requirements but they are also highly regarded in the industry for their personalized partner enablement and support.

Mathieu Leblanc, director of sales and strategic partners at SherWeb, said the company has a strong value proposition to offer Arrow’s reseller channel hosted cloud solutions.

SherWeb also recently named IT and Telecom veteran Joe Mardini to the new position of Chief Operating Officer to support the company’s growth ambitions. Mardini has held executive positions at major corporations such as IBM and Bell Canada, and his 30-year expertise spans both the Enterprise and SMB segments.

Currently, SherWeb has a network of more than 4,000 channel partners that resell or white-label its diversified cloud services portfolio.
