New Orleans, LA – Red Hat may be well into with its partnership strategy in offering new solutions around hybrid cloud, but that doesn’t mean it has forgotten its software core.
On that front, the open source software company is trying to be preemptive, namely it is trying to help train developers as well as help fintech startups and financial services ISVs develop blockchain applications.
To do so, it has announced five new training and certifications around DevOps.
“Red Hat wants to train the next generation of developers,” Jim Whitehurst, president and CEO of Red Hat told CDN at the company’s annual North American Partner Conference.
He explained that while the company has training programs for professional services, a formal devops program only came about after demand from other companies.
The five new certifications are: Developing Containerized Applications, OpenShift Enterprise Administration, Cloud Automation with Ansible, Managing Docker Containers with RHEL Atomic Host, and Configuration Management with Puppet. All five consist of a course and exam components.
The company noted that those who are already Red Hat Certified Engineers and Red Hat Certified JBoss Developers, and choose to pass the five new exams will receive the credential of Red Hat Certified Architect with a concentration in devops.
“For new workloads, I want to developers that can work faster and in a more agile way,” Whitehurst said. “When someone says that they are able to, can they actually do that? You should be able to feel confident in finding Red Hat certified developers.”
