Mississauga, Ont.-based Tech Data Canada, has introduced Activate-Here, an Electronic Software Delivery (ESD) solution specific for Microsoft products.
Activate-Here has been created based on a new relationship with Microsoft. Solution providers can now purchase select Microsoft products directly through Activate-Here and be provided with the products electronically in a secure manner. What this ESD service also does is reduce the resellers’ business costs as the need for packaging, freight and physical storage costs are virtually eliminated. The process will enable end users to instantly activate their Microsoft products, including Office 365.
Manal Guirguis, director of product management at Tech Data Canada, said the Activate-Here solution is being launched in Canada with Microsoft. As more software products become available in the market digitally every day, Activate-Here will ensure that reseller partners have access to all products all the time and that they are able to maximize their profits with no pick, pack or ship costs.
Activate-Here is targeted at SMB resellers, e-tailers and retailers to offer a full and up-to-date choice of software. Customers can use the service to order software products for immediate deployment and use by the customer. For the reseller, there is no requirement to order product in advance, or to display or stock physical ‘boxed’ software. By using Activate-Here, resellers and retailers can offer 100 per cent product availability and also benefit from improved cash-flow and reduced cost. With Office 365, moving to the cloud does not require people to change the way they work because it’s based on the familiar, according to the distributor.
