IT distributor Tech Data Canada is going about their meetings a little differently this week.

The company’s annual planning session for its management organization included an offsite team-building component where where groups raced to assemble bicycles that were then presented to the Toronto Children’s Breakfast Club and the Boys and Girls Club of Peel, Tech Data said.

“This event brought our entire management team together to discuss strategies and key initiatives for the upcoming year,” said Rick Reid, president of Tech Data Canada. “Each member embraced the opportunity to give back to the community while learning to collaborate and work more efficiently as a team.”

The Children’s Breakfast Club is a non-profit organization that serves some 4,000 meals per week to children across the Greater Toronto area.

Meanwhile, the Boys and Girls Club of Peel is a charity that engages over 1,200 at-risk children, youth and families from low-income communities through after-school and summer programs, volunteer and employment opportunities, and scholarships.
