Where are they now? Three channel veterans land in new roles

Three veterans of the IT reseller channel, and familiar faces to the Canadian channel, have recently landed new roles in the wide world of IT. Let’s take a look at where they’ve landed in our first edition of Where are they now.

Mark Ciprietti: We probably know Ciprietti best as D-Link Networks’ man in Canada. He left that position in January of 2012 and, shortly thereafter, landed at Empowered Networks as vice-president of sales. As of this month, he holds the same title, but now with Gibraltar Solutions, a key Citrix partner based in Mississauga, Ont. He’s a veteran of Insight Canada, NexInnovations and Metafore.

Kevin Krempulec: Before he helped security vendor Kaspersky Lab expand into the Canadian market in 2008, Krempulec held leadership positions with Symantec and Net Integration Technologies. He left Kaspersky in January, and as of this spring he’s a regional vice-president with Salesforce.com, with responsibility for the Northeastern U.S.

Alex Thurber: Thurber spent a decade with Cisco Systems in global channel strategy development before signing on with McAfee as their global channel chief, also running commercial and SMB sales. He left McAfee in January 2012, spent a year at Tripwire, and as of this month he’s joined security vendor WatchGuard Technologies as vice-president, sales.
