Document management, printing, and imaging vendor Xerox Canada has a new top man in the channel: Steve Connor.

Xerox Canada announced Tuesday that it had appointed Connor to the position of vice-president, channel partner operations. He replaces Ajay Dhingra, who held the position of vice-president, indirect channel and supplies organization before recently leaving Xerox Canada for an ownership position with Bay Street Document Systems in Toronto, a key Xerox Authorized Agency.

A Xerox veteran, Connor joined Xerox in 1994 and held various management roles in sales, training, marketing, channels, and general management, and most recently serves as vice-president of the Canadian agent operations, and prior to that was vice president of marketing.

In his new channel role, Connor will be responsible for the strategies and programs related to the company’s network of channel partners, which includes alliance partners, distributors, VARs and Authorized Xerox Agencies. He’ll be focused on providing organizational strategy, programs and operational support for over 2,000 independent Xerox partners in Canada, expanding Xerox’s channel presence, and provide partners with competitive and profitable business opportunities.

“Aligning our channel partner and agent business under Steve`s leadership makes good business sense and provides us with a unique and exciting opportunity to identify and leverage synergies that will help to further grow our business,” said Mandy Shapansky, president and CEO, Xerox Canada, in a stateme. “Steven’s breadth of experience and strong customer focus will help evolve our partnering strategy, with the goal of increasing our technology and managed print services market leadership.”
