What’s trending D&H style

D&H

D&H Canada is trying to eliminate the guess work for solution provider on top selling products.

The distributor, based in Mississauga, Ont., has developed an online tool called “What’s Trending” that will lists the most frequently viewed items on the D&H Canada Web site: dandh.ca. The distributor plans to update “What’s Trending” several times a day and will display the top product in an “at a glance” style for its solution provider customers.

D&H intends to deliver insights into shopping trends to better educate resellers and retailers and make them competitive in the marketplace.

In addition, on the left hand menu on dandh.ca’s log-in home page search results can be refined to identify hot items in different categories such as CPUs, notebooks, tablets, software, printers, networking products and other products.  Listings include product and pricing information; plus icons identifying characteristics such as discounted or green-certified items.

For example, on February 27, the day of the feature’s launch, the “What’s Trending” list showed that the HP 2000-2b00 15.6-inch LED notebook was the most frequently viewed overall item on dandh.ca.  However, customers could also click on the “Hard Drives & SSDs” tab to the right of the “What’s Trending” list to filter their results, revealing the Western Digital Caviar Blue Desktop 500 GB 3.5-inch drive as the most popular item in this category; and the Lenovo ThinkPad Slate Net-Tablet as the hottest item in the “Tablets” category.

Greg Tobin, general manager at D&H Canada said the tool was built to deliver insights on the state of product demand at any given time.  D&H has utilized similar purchasing data to illustrate what trends are presenting themselves in the marketplace, and to determine how those developments contribute to the company’s growth.  The “What’s Trending” list gives resellers a similar glimpse at what their peers are shopping for, and how those trends might be applied among their own end-customers.
