VCE released a series of new products, services, and channel partner enablement program that the Vblock alliance hopes can further converged infrastructure solutions.
The new product release is one of the largest in the company short history and features a new Vblock System along with VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software.
There will also be a new cloud service called VCE Cloud Accelerator Services, but the new partner program will be of interest to the channel.
Praveen Akkiraju, the CEO of VCE, said the company wants to set the pace in true converged infrastructure, delivering innovative products and services to customers that enable transformative results by reducing costs, increasing reliability, and accelerating time-to-market.
“The solutions announced today, along with our increased investment in our partners, reinforces our commitment to help customers simplify and accelerate the deployment of next generation data center and cloud infrastructures. With VCE, IT organizations are able to more effectively support and – for the first time – get ahead of end-user requirements in today’s dynamic business environment,” he said.
Called the Enhanced VCE Partner Program, the new channel plan attempt to increases the opportunities and enablement for solution providers to develop and expand business around VCE’s converged infrastructure solutions. Targeted to partners that sell and deploy Vblock Systems, the program includes:
- Greater incentives and benefits to encourage partner investment with VCE;
- New partner tiers to reward existing partners and streamline the onboarding process for new partners; and
- New specializations for specific solutions.
The new Vblock System 340 incorporates the compute, network, storage, data protection and virtualization technologies from VCE investor companies, Cisco, EMC, and VMware with claims that it will offers up to four times the performance and twice the capacity of the previous Vblock System 300. The other aspect to consider with these new Vblocks is that they have been architected for Oracle database deployments.
Introduced in February 2013, VCE Vision Intelligent Operations software works to inform management frameworks about Vblock System configuration and health – enabling the Vblock System to be seen and managed as a single converged infrastructure object.
The new VCE Cloud Accelerator Services is an “as a service” cloud infrastructure that combines business process, operations, and organizational transformation expertise with pre-integrated capabilities for self-service, service management and chargeback that have been designed, tested and optimized for Vblock Systems.
