Richard Martin says the ripple effects in the mobile and wireless market continue to spread, in ever more Byzantine ways.

“Today Reuters reports that “Research in Motion Ltd shares rose more than 3 percent on Thursday on renewed market speculation that Microsoft Corp could be interested in buying the BlackBerry maker.” This according to one analyst would be “in response to Google’s recent announcement that it is interested in making its own mobile phone operating system, which would compete with Windows Mobile.”

My Space kills another start up

Nick Gonzales has this tale of My Space’s axe.

”MySpace has put the axe to yet another startup. Last night they mad a call threatening legal action against freshly launched TellThem.mobi , a service that lets you message all your friends from your mobile phone. TellThem’s site simply reads: “On Wednesday August 29th, 2007, we got a call from MySpace threatning to take legal action if we didn’t take the website down. Apparently it violates their terms of service…. switch to Facebook.”
