CFO latest executive departure from AMD

Advanced Micro Devices senior vice-president and CFO Thomas Seifert has left the company with stated plans to pursue other interests. It’s the latest high-profile departure from the processing giant, reports CRN:

Seifert is the most recent executive to head for the exits at AMD, following the footsteps of Bob Feldstein, former AMD business development executive, who left the company for rival chip maker Nvidia (NSDQ:NVDA) in July. Last September, AMD announced the departure of Emilio Ghilardi, former senior vice president and chief sales officer, along with Eric Demers, former CTO of AMD’s Graphics Business Unit, in February.

Earlier this month, AMD launched support for Intel’s Xeon “Ivy Bridge” processors with its new micro server chassis. AMD says its SeaMicro SM15000 server extends fabric-based computing across racks and aisles of the data center to connect to massive disk arrays supporting over 5PB of storage capacity. It also announced a new generation of compute cards for its micro servers based on AMD Opteron and Intel Xeon “Ivy Bridge” processors.
