HP refreshes workstation lineup and adds performance displays

Hewlett-Packard Co. has refreshed its Z series workstation lineup with new entry-level devices and added its first professional monitors under the new Z Display family.

The HP Z22i, Z23i and Z24i IPS displays are designed to provide improved image accuracy and reliability in demanding workstation environments, and have been optimized to work with HP Z workstations. HP said they’ll find a good fit with engineers, architects, designers and photographers looking to balance image quality and affordability.

The HP Z22i and Z23i offer 95 per cent sRGB color space coverage, and the HP Z24i offers 99 percent coverage. All three are Energy Star qualified and EPEAT Gold registered, and the HP Z22i and Z23i have achieved the TCO Certified Edge designation for environmental and ergonomic stand design for optimal user comfort.

On the workstation front, HP has added to its Z series workstation lineup with the new HP Z230 Workstation, available in a tower or small form factor. According to HP, it’s a good fit for knowledge workers and specialists, design engineers and creative designers who want to balance reliability and performance with affordability.

The HP Z230 is designed for upgradeability and expandability, and is available with the latest Intel Xeon processors and discrete graphics options that can support as many as six independent displays.

“Our customers want products that are designed and engineered to meet the most demanding computing and visualization needs, and HP’s Z moniker has become synonymous with meeting that challenge,” said Jeff Wood, vice-president of worldwide product management with HP’s commercial solutions business unit, in a statement. “The new HP Z230 Workstations and Z Displays meet these workload demands at an affordable price, and demonstrate HP’s leadership in providing solutions for professional solutions at all levels.”

The HP Z22i, Z23i and Z24i Displays are available now starting at US$239, US$259 and US$399, respectively. The HP Z230 Workstations start at US$999 for quad-core configurations, with worldwide availability expected in August.
