During the Microsoft Research Faculty Summit, a Microsoft researcher demonstrated his Hotmap project.

“He said he had figured out why there’s such high traffic for the maps of that place in the world, and he asked the academics in the audience to guess. Several of them immediately knew the answer. But I’ll refrain from giving it away for now, and offer it up as a puzzle, just for fun. Feel free to take a guess in the comments. No fair answering if you were there.”
