Power vendor unveils channel program for Canada

Eaton Corp. announced the expansion of its VAR program called the PowerAdvantage Partner Program to Canada.

The program provides solution providers with immediate incentives, a training academy and a range of data infrastructure solutions.

The program, which is available in English and French, enables resellers to deliver value-based solutions within market segments of power reliability and energy efficiency.

The PowerAdvantage Partner Program was designed directly by VAR and power experts to help resellers grow their business through power backup and management solutions. The program is designed in two tiers, Authorized and Certified, to provide added flexibility for VARs to achieve their goals. The Authorized tier supports VARs that want to offer power quality solutions without building in-house expertise. The Certified tier supports those looking to establish a comprehensive power practice.

Certification tracks and customized courses are offered to provide qualified partners expertise in areas including power management, virtualization, and data center power quality solutions. Completing certification in these areas provides a host of benefits to the partner including additional product rebates, enhanced lead generation and incremental revenue. Benefits of the program also include sales and marketing support, deal registration, and product promotions, as well as, innovative hardware trade-in and demo programs.

Ramesh Menon, director of global channel marketing, Distributed Power Quality for Eaton, said that the feedback from Canadian resellers was to create a tailored program for the region that featured services and technologies to meet evolving power requirements.

According to Eaton, all businesses depending on utility power are susceptible to daily power quality issues, which potentially can harm computers and corrupt data. Additionally, many organizations adopting the benefits of new computing models such as virtualization and cloud computing are outgrowing their existing backup power capacities and hitting limits in power distribution.

Resellers now have an opportunity to include power protection and monitoring in a bundled IT system sale to help address these issues with this new channel program from Eaton.
