Ingram to offer virtualization bundles

Ingram Micro Inc. (NYSE: IM) announced at the EMC World Conference in Las Vegas a new lineup of fully-integrated virtualization solutions.

These bundles also come with complementary marketing enablement resources for channel partners selling to the SMB. Available now, the new Ingram Micro Virtualization (IM-V) bundles include EMC VNXe storage systems; VMware’s vSphere; and the Cisco Catalyst, Nexus and Unified Computing System products.

The customizable IM-V bundles are being supported by the Ingram Micro Advanced Computing and Advanced Technology Divisions. Paul Bay, executive vice president, Ingram Micro North America, said Ingram wants to be the distributor of choice for EMC and bring to market a new series of SMB/SME virtualization bundles that provide channel partners with a greater sales advantage.

Avnet keeps its cool

Avnet Electronics Marketing (NYSE: AVT) is celebrating its 25th year of carrying cooling products with a Top Gun campaign.

According to the Phoenix-based distributor nothing was cooler in 1986 than blockbuster movie Top Gun starring Tom Cruise. In the 25 years that have followed the release of this iconic film, staying cool now requires more than a leather bomber jacket and a pair of aviator sunglasses. That’s where Avnet and ebm-papst, a manufacturer of motors, fans and blowers, come into play. This year marks the 25th year the two companies celebrate their distribution relationship, and their ability to keep their mutual customers cool.

Arrow Electronics, Inc. (NYSE: ARW)announced an online resource that helps MyArrow customers manage the complete sales cycle.

Arrow’s new Order Management tool enables users to view and download information about online and offline orders for up to 12 months. Within the Order Management tool, MyArrow customers can locate information ands earch sales history by P.O., customer part number or manufacturer part number, filter views of order history, including all open orders (backlog), download order details to Excel or other text formats, view shipping information, including carrier-tracking details, re-order directly from a previous order, view and print invoices, and communicate directly with the Arrow sales team.

Martin Rohde, vice president at Arrow said order management is the latest of Arrow’s online tools designed to simplify the entire order process, whether customers order online or through our sales team.
