Top 100 solution provider acquires rental IT company

CDI Computer Dealers Inc. of Toronto has acquired Vernon Technology Solutions, a technology rental business.
Vernon will commence operation as a division of the “CDI Group of Companies”.
CDI believes this acquisition will enable VTS to grow its current core businesses and expand into new markets and product lines.
According to CDI, by leveraging inventory and buying power, VTS will be able to improve its services offerings while reducing costs. VTS has branch offices across Canada and also offers IT asset disposition services. The acquisition by CDI will provide capacity for expansion in current markets and the U.S. where CDI has a significant presence.
Saar Pikar, CDI’s CEO, said VTS and CDI have been working in partnership on the supply and asset recovery business for several years and the opportunity to bring this profitable business in as a division made a lot of sense on many levels. Jim Drohan, CDI’s vice president of business development, will manage the VTS division.
Drohan said the timing for integration of these two organizations was a perfect way to have the opportunity to continue the growth and development of both.
