Slack CEO stepping down in January

It’s been a volatile week in the Salesforce c-suite. Last Wednesday (Nov. 30), Salesforce co-chief executive officer (CEO) Bret Taylor resigned, reportedly to start a new company, and the next day, Salesforce Tableau’s CEO, Mark Nelson, announced his departure.

Today, a third senior executive, Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield, revealed that he is leaving the company in January.

Lidiane Jones, executive vice president and general manager for Salesforce’s digital experience clouds, will step into the Slack CEO role. Taylor’s successor has not been named, and Nelson’s post is expected to be eliminated, with Tableau being rolled more closely into the Salesforce organization.
