Symantec Canada goes Hollywood with the channel

ST. JOHN’S, N.F.L.D. – Bright lights, movie stars and all the other trappings of Hollywood could become available to TechSelect Canada solution providers this November under a new promotion from Symantec Canada.

Symantec Canada has taken an American promotion called Symantec Star and extended it to TechSelect Canada partners.  What’s at stake is a share of a $30,000 prize. On top of that Canadian solution providers will get their chance at $8,000. In total Symantec is giving away $38,000, but Canadian partners will only get a shot at that $8,000 portion.

Rita Loncar, partner account manager for SMB at Symantec Canada told CDN that Tech Data Canada has made a big investment in the TechSelect community and Symantec believes there is great growth potential in this group and the company wants to be a part of it.

To qualify for the Symantec Star promotion TechSelect Canada members must have completed sales of Symantec software during the period of June 1 to Sept. 30of last year. From there Symantec has set up two tiers for partners. The first tier is called Best Star in Blockbuster and those who qualify here have a minimum of $15,000 in orders in 2012 to qualify.

The Second tier is called Best New Series and will have solution providers with a minimum of $5,000 in sales to a maximum of $14,999 in orders in 2012 to qualify. Also resellers in the Best New Series tier must show a minimum of 20 per cent growth to qualify.

The winners will be based on total highest percentage growth within each tier. Managed accounts will not be eligible.

Symantec Canada is building up momentum for this promotion with the channel that will see solution providers whisked away to Hollywood to be on stage receiving their cheque at the Beverly Hills Hilton this November.
