Tech Data Canada bolsters StreamOne platform

Tech Data Canada revealed enhancements to its StreamOne program that includes several new vendor solutions for solution providers and managed service providers (MSP).

The Mississauga, Ont.-based distributor’s StreamOne powers its cloud solutions store enabling solution providers to provide scaled up cloud and subscription services. “The new functionalities, combined with our in-house expertise and growing cloud-based product portfolio, enable us to empower our partners with new revenue opportunities and deliver a cutting-edge cloud-based solution portfolio to meet the needs of their end customers,” said Greg Myers, senior vice president of sales and marketing at Tech Data Canada.

A refreshed checkout experience leads the way as one of StreamOne’s major enhancements, bringing improvements to the user experience to simplify the purchasing process on the cloud solutions store. “The look and feel of it is new, bringing a refreshed checkout experience so it is unique to each vendor,” said Shelley Green, manager of software business at Tech Data Canada to CDN.

Microsoft Cloud Solution Program (CSP) is part of the StreamOne platform. CSP verifies Microsoft partner identifications, new pre-existing domains, and makes advisor (old pre-CSP software) transfers automatically. StreamOne can now make solution providers to go directly from advisor to CSP. This ties into new listings on the solutions store for Azure through the CSP program. This includes five pre-configured Azure workloads that are easily accessible to resellers.

Tech Data’s five new pre-configured Azure workloads are:

  • Backup to Azure – Replaces existing on-premises or offsite backup solution
  • Site Recovery on Azure – Ensures servers, virtual machines and apps are resilient by replicating them in case outages occur.
  • File Storage on Azure – Simplifies hosting for high availability workload data and increases file availability.
  • SQL Server on Azure – When demand for apps grows from a handful of devices and customers to millions, SQL Databases can sale.
  • Virtual Machine on Azure – Construct a multi-tier secure application that can be deployed in minutes and can be managed over the Internet.

Alongside the StreamOne enhancements, Tech Data detailed some of the new vendor partners that have recently been added to the cloud solutions store portfolio with the goal to give resellers more opportunities to bring their IP to a broader marketplace. Autodesk, which will be fully automated and provisioned on the store later this week, Acronis backup cloud, Cisco Spark, completely managed Cisco Meraki network monitored services, Exclaimer Cloud Signatures for Office 365, Global Knowledge Cloud Mastery Assessment, ISA professional services for Intel Security, Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud, and Sky IAAS Office in a box are now included in the cloud solutions store.

“We are very excited about the enhancements to the cloud solutions store and the ability to deliver best-in-class cloud-based technology solutions to solution providers in Canada who are looking to master the cloud journey,” Myers added.
