Top 100 submissions are up but deadline extended

Submissions for CDNs Top 100 Solution Provider ranking are up significantly this year, but organizers have agreed to extend the deadline by one week to accommodate several providers facing corresponding business deadlines.

“We are extremely pleased by the response this year,” said Steve Proctor,  ITWC’s VP of Marketing and Communications and a key organizer of the ranking survey. “We have had many new players submit to be ranked and several companies that have been off the list for a couple of years have returned.”

The 2017 Ranking

Acquisitions and mergers will change the face of the list, said Proctor suggesting there will be fierce competition for the highest ranking newcomer and the fastest rising solution provider. “I expect there will be some surprises when the ranking is released at the Top 100 gala on April 24.”

The final deadline for submissions is March 8. All responses are strictly confidential.

The highlight of the gala will continue to be the release of the Top 100 ranking and the presentation of traditional awards, but Proctor said attendees will have the opportunity to attend a Channel-building workshop ahead of the event and the opportunity to honour channel veteran Michael Murphy when he is presented a Lifetime Achievement Award.

“Michael had a stunning 26-year career in the Channel with leadership responsibilities at Citrix Canada and Symantec Canada. He made the CDN Top Newsmakers list a couple of times and he was an obvious choice for the honour,” said CDN Associate Group Publisher  Brad McBride.

Registration for the hot air balloon-themed gala is open.

CDN’s annual Benchmark Report, a snapshot of the Channel based on the Top 100 surveys, will also be released at the gala. The report provides channel players insights on how their colleagues are faring and how they view the next year.

Top 100 sponsors include TechData, Dell, ViewSonic, HP, Samsung, and VMWare

Appearance on the CDN Top 100 list is considered in the channel to be something of a coup. Public recognition aside, many solution providers over the years have used their standing as a Top 100 winner as part of their marketing and promotional efforts.
